Joanna joined CIBC in 2019 where she oversees the sport, business, and strategic sponsorship portfolios including National, Business, and Regional Sponsorship properties including Montreal Canadiens, Whistler, Pearson International Airport, and over 80 regional properties. She came from Kraft Heinz where she worked on multi-brand national programs with her partners at the NHL, NHLPA, Hockey Canada, MLSE, Rogers, and TSN. Joanna has been focused on sponsorship for over 13 years and is a proud member of WISE Toronto.
Marie Villa CPA, CA: Head of Finance – NBA Canada
As the Head of Finance at NBA Canada, Marie Villa is responsible for the financial planning and analysis, treasury management, and financial reporting of the league in Canada. She assumed her current role in January 2022 and has contributed significantly to helping NBA Canada exceed both revenue and operating income targets in the first year. Marie is currently an active member of the NBA’s Asian Professional Exchange (APEX) and sits on the leadership team for the NBA Canada office. Prior to working at the NBA, Marie was a manager in the Assurance group at Ernst & Young Toronto. She holds her Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with CPA Ontario. Marie is also an active WISE Toronto member and sits on our DE&I committee.
